Review:
The Godfather is one of those rare movies which incorporated many different genres in to it. I had expected the movie to have guns being fired every minute, but thats not how the movie is. It incorporates many different elements. This movie has many layers of interconnecting stories. Hearing this you’d expect it to be confusing, but no. It just makes it better.
This movie is the height of film making at that time, and has come to define the future for crime and gangster movies. The future crime movies have been compared to this movie. But this is an unfair comparison as The Godfather is the best. The term ‘Godfather’ has been used as a synonym for an awesome movie. It had set the standards for gangster movie, which has not yet been surpassed.
The movie is slow, but it has a very deep story. The father-son relationship between Marlon Brando as Don Vito Corleone and Al Pachino as Michael Corleone was just beautiful. The opening lines of the movie were just awesome.
The Godfather made me an offer I couldn’t refuse.
Final Verdict:
The Godfather is the godfather of all movies. 9/10
