Few weeks ago, it was announced that Joss Whedon would be writing and directing The Avengers sequel. It was also announced that he would be attached to a Marvel TV Show for ABC network. Was it going to be the Hulk Tv show, Was he in collaboration with Del Torro or was it some smaller character he was bringing to the small screen?

Now, it has been finally announced that, the series Whedon would be working on is none other that S.H.I.IE.L.D. (Strategic Hazard Intervention Espionage Logistics Directorate or Strategic Homeland Intervention Enforcement and Logistics Division). He is set to write S.H.I.E.L.D. along with Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen who worked with him on Dollhouse and Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blog. To add to this wonderful news, it was also announced that, he would be directing the pilot too.

My question is – When should we start protesting for it to be un-cancelled? Firefly went on for 1 season and got cancelled, Dollhouse went on for 2 season and got cancelled.. So logically this should last for 3 seasons?

Anyway, this is one of the best pieces of new I’ve received. With the death of Tony Scott and Neil Armstrong, this news was just right to lighten up the rest of the week!

Story:

In the future, a spaceship called Serenity is harboring a passenger with a deadly secret. Six rebels on the run. An assassin in pursuit. When the renegade crew of Serenity agrees to hide a fugitive on their ship, they find themselves in an awesome action-packed battle between the relentless military might of a totalitarian regime who will destroy anything – or anyone – to get the girl back and the bloodthirsty creatures who roam the uncharted areas of space. But, the greatest danger of all may be on their ship.

Review:

Serenity is the sequel movie to the AWESOME Space Western TV Show ‘Firefly‘. Firefly was wrongly cancelled by Rupert Murdoch of Fox. Thus he is on the hate list of all geek like me!. Firefly was an amazing TV show with an amazing cast and great acting. The story was awesome. And what else do you expect from the man who would go on to make the best super-hero movie ‘The Avengers’. That’s right, Firefly was created by Joss Wheadon. And if you didn’t know that SHAME ON YOU! A quick re-cap- Firefly is about a ship called Serenity which is a firefly class transport ship. The crew consists of Captain Mal Reynolds, Zoe, Jayne The weapons guy, Inara The Companion, Kaylee the mechanic and Wash the pilot of Serenity. They get few passengers of which one is an alliance member and the other has a mysterious box and the other is a Shepherd. They find out that the mysterious box contains a girl, the mans sister. he is also a doctor. He, the girl and the shepherd are crew members on the ship and they carry out missions

Serenity continues where Firefly left off. It startes of by giving us an introduction to the firefly universe. And the transition from the Universal Studios screen to the main movie was awesome!  The story was good. And the acting was awesome. Summer Glau has done an awesome job at portraying River Tam. She just beautifully brings out the cluelessness of River perfectly. And the end was amazing. In the last 30 mins I was upset that they killed Wash. Why???? The whole end was awesome! Some awesome scenes in the movie too. The dialogue was funny as usual and the direction was great too.

I finally understand why Sheldon (From TBBT) hates Rupert Murdock so much!

Now on to the Comics!!!!

Final Verdict:

8/10

This post is for only those who have seen The Avengers movie.

If  you have seen The Avengers, you would have seen the strange scene after the names of the actors came. And then waited till all the credits rolled out to see the Post-Credit scene. But to our dismay, there wasn’t any. Thus the afore mentioned scene is logically is the post  credit scene.

After the end of the movie, when the Chitauri have been killed or sucked back into the hole in the sky, and Loki is transported back to Asgard where he would be punished for his crimes, we see the Chitauri leader talking to a large shadowy entity (Lets call him Mr.Shadow). He says to the shadowy being that attacking Earth “would be to court death”.  And then there is a wide grin on Mr.Shadow’s face

Now the question arises: Who is the shadowy being? (Mind you there is only one right answer)

If you have been looking over Twitter for that answer then you would have got some crazy answers like it was  the Red Skrulls. Some even though tit was the Asgardian Watchman- Hemindall. Or some rubbish like that. But there is only one right answer.

The answer is Thanos! Yes you read right! It is Thanos the Titan from Saturns Moon Titan.

This just makes it even  crazier! Does this mean that Thanos will be there for Avengers 2? Who knows!

Review:

Almost half a century after the debut of the comic book series which had the best ensemble of superheros, arrives this wonderfully made movie by Joss Whedon. The movie super fun and entertaining in every aspect. Of the many things you can say about this movie, one thing is most fitting: Best. Superhero. Movie. Ever.

Joss Whedon, took the comic books and made it his own, by adding his trademark humor, drama and smartness. The seven lead actors assisted by great supporting actors and with Whedon’s direction, is what made it such a great movie. The acting was just too good. Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man was as awesome as ever, and I especially liked Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. Black Widow finally made her mark in this movie. In Iron Man 2 I felt that she was out of place. And Jeremy Renner manages to make a bow and his expert marksmanship look cool infront of Thor’s Mjolnir, and Tony’s Iron Man Suit.

The dialogue  of the movie is quote-able. There are many scenes in the movie which is liked particularly. Like the scene where Hulk beats the crap out of Loki and all the scenes with Iron Man.

This movie is also the first where they show the superheros fighting against each other. The scene where Black Widow is nearly killed by Hulk when Bruce first transforms is also awesome. The scens to follow were just mind blowing. The 3D in the movie was also not a waste like most movies these days.

The Best scene is when all The Avengers come together toward the end and kicks some alien @$$.

Final Verdict:

Epic movie. 9/10

Quotes:

Thor: He’s my brother
Natasha Romanoff: He killed 80 people in 2 days
Thor: …He’s adopted

Loki: [Hulk and Loki fighting. Everything stops] I am a God! I am not going to be bullied by a –
[Hulk grabs him by the legs and throws him around]

Ripley: [voiceover] My mommy always said there were no monsters. No real ones. But there are.

Story:

200 years after the conclusion of Alien 3, the company is able to resurrect Ripley through the process of cloning and the scientists successfully take the Queen Alien out of her. But, Ripley’s DNA gets mixed up with the Queen’s and she begins to develop certain alien characteristics. The scientists begin breeding the aliens, but they later escape. Soon the Xeno-morphs are running amok on the ship, which is on course to earth. The Queen then gives birth to a deadly new breed of alien, which could spell disaster for the entire human race. It’s up to Ripley and a band of space pirates to stop the ship before it reaches earth.

Review:

The movie is a bit too cartoonish for my taste. But nevertheless its enjoyable. There are many factual errors in the movie: In the end when Ripley throws her blood at the glass in the space ship, the hole is too small to cause a suction effect.

The story is written by Joss Whedon, but not all of it is used. The acting was good too.

Final Verdict:

An enjoyable movie. 6.5/10..

My review for the other Alien movies: Alien, Aliens & Alien 3
